PORTFOLIO 4.0 Brings Dynamic New Changes to the Project Command Center
The release of PORTFOLIO 4.0 marks a dynamic new milestone in the evolution of Axium software. With the introduction of Tasks and the powerful Business Development option to track and analyze your marketing efforts, Axium continues to deliver on its commitment to create cutting-edge tools to drive growth and success in the A\E industry. This article will feature changes made to the Project Command Center (PCC) with the 4.0 release.
Enhancements to the Project Info Tab
Increased Customization Options
Optional columns can now be added to display more detailed phase-level information while viewing your work breakdown structure. These optional columns can be resized, and the total area allocated between the project tree and the project information tab can be adjusted as well.
Add Phases with Greater Flexibility
Phases can now be added to the precise location that you wish for them to be located. Additionally, you are now able to give the same description to a project and a phase.
Manage Tab
Centralized Project Control
The Budget tab and the Schedule tab have been combined on the PCC to form a more centralized and comprehensive location for managing your projects. With a single glance, you can now view budgeted contract amounts, estimated completion dates, and reported percent complete at the phase and project level.
A More Flexible GANTT Chart
The GANTT chart has been enhanced to make it even easier to plan and manage project workload requirements from the PCC. By using the new zoom-in and zoom-out icons, you are able to pinpoint the time interval most useful to matching resources to future workload requirements. The GANTT chart can now be viewed from a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-monthly, or annual time frame.
New Icons for Adding Resources and Tasks
Simple and intuitive icons (R – for resources and T – for tasks) are now featured for adding resource requirements or assigning tasks to a project. By selecting or clearing the checkboxes for show resource rows and show task rows, users have the option of viewing or hiding this detail while managing their projects.
Window Title Bar
For better clarity, there is now a window title bar on the Manage tab that displays the exact location in the work breakdown structure that you are amending.
Enhanced Company Security Options and Customization
Easier Navigation using Enhanced Icons
Consistent icons are now used throughout the program to indicate when a screen can be customized or if a tab contains a report. Refresh options are more prominent throughout the program to deliver up to the minute information reflective of all user changes.
Enhanced Security for the PCC
Company security has been enhanced to give pinpoint control over what can be accessed and modified when setting up and managing projects. Additional tabs have been added to company security to reflect the new changes to the PCC that also allow you to define security down to the individual field.
